Relational Life Therapy Coaching for Couples

I help couples build a bridge between the relationship they want and the relationship they know how to have, using Relational Life Therapy (RLT).

Most of us were never taught the skills needed to maintain a secure, loving, and passionate partnership. In moments of stress, we end up defaulting to old anti-relational patterns.

With my coaching, you will get clarity on your unique relational dance, understand the origins of your losing strategies, and practice new ways of relating that foster intimacy and connection. The process will not always be easy, but the reward is a relationship that feels deeply satisfying and nourishing—with the person you love.

Work with me:

I offer virtual couples coaching sessions. If you’re interested in working together, you can schedule a complimentary 30-minute consultation. During that call, I’ll answer your questions and we’ll determine whether my services are a good fit for you and your partner.

FAQ:

  • RLT coaches and therapists complete the same core training and certification process with the Relational Life Institute. The main difference is that RLT-trained therapists receive additional training to work more deeply with trauma and clinical mental health issues.

As a coach, my focus is on helping couples build awareness, learn new relational skills, and practice more effective ways of connecting in the present moment. If you or your partner are working through significant trauma or mental health concerns, you might benefit from working with an RLT-trained therapist instead, or alongside coaching.

  • If my approach or background resonates with you, I encourage you to schedule a free consultation so we can meet face-to-face and get a sense of how it might feel to work together. A strong connection and sense of trust between client and practitioner are among the best predictors of positive outcomes.

You might also read about different couples work modalities—like Relational Life Therapy (RLT), the Gottman Method, Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT), Imago, or Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT)—to see which approach best aligns with your beliefs and what hoping to gain from coaching.

  • While I’m in the process of completing my couples coaching certification, I’ll be offering sessions at a reduced rate of $50 per hour. I want this work to feel as accessible as possible while I’m in training, and I’ll communicate any future rate changes well in advance.

  • I occasionally offer individual coaching to people who are part of a couple I’m working with if it would support the progress we’re making together in sessions. In some cases, I may also recommend that one or both partners work individually with another practitioner if that feels more appropriate for your needs.

If you’re an individual seeking Relational Life Therapy- or presence-based-coaching outside of couples work, you’re welcome to reach out via my contact page and share what you’re looking for. I’ll respond with next steps if it seems like a good fit.

  • I only offer couples coaching when both partners are willing to participate and commit to the process together. Sustainable relational change requires both partners to be engaged in learning and practicing new ways of relating.

That said, if your partner isn’t ready to come in, it can still be powerful for you to start shifting the relational dynamic on your own. In Relational Life Therapy, we often say that “it only takes one person to change the dance.” By learning new relational skills, setting healthy boundaries, and showing up differently, you can influence the system in meaningful ways.

If you’re in that situation, you’re welcome to reach out via my contact page to explore whether short-term individual coaching could support you in taking the first steps.

  • No, I do not.

  • It depends on what’s happening in your relationship and what you’re hoping to get out of coaching. We’ll decide together what makes sense for you. Most couples start by meeting weekly for an hour or every other week for a 75-90 minute session, which gives us time to go deeper and work through real dynamics as they arise.
